On Tuesday 21 July, the seminar How technology can transform surgery will be held, led by Theo Ruers, Director of the Division of Surgical Oncology at the Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI) in Amsterdam and Clinical Professor at the University of Twente, where he specialises in the application of biomedical imaging and innovative therapeutic strategies in oncology.
Theo Ruers leads a research group dedicated to the development and application of advanced imaging techniques for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. His work focuses on the integration of technology and artificial intelligence in the operating theatre, with the aim of optimising surgical procedures and achieving better outcomes for patients.
The seminar will take place in the Orazio Svelto Lecture Theatre (formerly the Red Lecture Theatre) from 10.00 am.
