Alessandro Torricelli

CURRICULUM VITAE ET STUDIORUM

  • He was born in Modena (Italy) in 1968.
  • In 1994 he graduated cum laude in Electronic Engineering at Politecnico di Milano (PoliMi).
  • In 1999 he obtained the PhD title in Physics at Politecnico di Torino.
  • November 1999- February 2005, Researcher in Experimental Physics at PoliMi.
  • March 2005 - January 2017, Associate Professor in Experimental Physics at PoliMi.
  • Since February 2017 he has been Full Professor in Experimental Physics at PoliMi.

RESEARCH ACTIVITY

  • Published more than 250 papers (more than 100 on international peer-reviewed journals).
  • Presented more than 200 contributions to international congresses (more than 20 invited talks).
  • Bibliometric indices: h-index 33, 3292 total citations by 1896 documents since 1996 (from Scopus).
  • Referee of international journals (e.g. Optics Letters, Optics Express, NeuroImage).
  • Evaluator of international research proposals (e.g. Wellcome Trust, UK; Technology Foundation STW, The Netherlands; Harward Medical School, Massachusetts, USA).
  • Member of Committee SC 62D “Medical devices” at Comitato Elettrotecnico Italiano, as national expert on tissue oximeter standardisation (since April 2012).
