Giuseppe Della Valle

Giuseppe Della Valle received the Laurea degree in Electronic Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Milan (Italy) in 2001, and the PhD degree in Physics in 2005. He is currently Associate Professor of Physics at the Physics Department of the Politecnico di Milano where he is lecturer of Experimental Physics and Micro- and Nano-Optics.

The research activity of GDV is devoted to both theoretical and and experimental research on photonic structures at the micro- and nano-scale for the coherent control of light by quantum-optical analogies and sub-wavelength diffraction management in plasmonic and complex structures.

GDV has co-authored more than 100 papers published on peer-referred international journals, 3 book contributions, and about 20 invited communications in international conferences, and serves as a referee for several international peer-referred journals of optics and physics, among which Nature Photonics and Physical Review Letters.

In 2007 GDV was awarded with the QEOD Thesis Prize of the European Physical Society for applied research.
