Full professor of Physics at Politecnico di Milano since 1994, he performs research activities in the field of laser source development for the generation of ultrashort light pulses for applications in physic of matter, photonics and high intensity light-matter interactions. He is director of the European Large Scale infrastructure “Centre for Ultrafast Science and Biomedical Optics” (CUSBO). He is fellow of the Optical Society of America and of the European Physical Society and he is member of international congress committees in the field of photonics and ultrafast phenomena.
