Antonio Caruso awarded at the Italian Physical Society’s International School of Physics “Enrico Fermi”
Award

Antonio Caruso, PhD student at the Physics Department, was awarded a prize at the Enrico Fermi International School of Physics in Varenna for the best scientific poster.
The work, entitled “Single-Frequency Broadly Tunable Cr:ZnSe laser,” was presented for the session “Future Needs for Metrology: Climate Science, Quantum Technologies, and the Digital Transformation.”
The presented laser, developed in the Department's laboratories, will be used for precision spectroscopy applications on HD molecules in collaboration with CNR-IFN and CNR-INO, with the aim of investigating effects predicted by the Quantum Electrodynamics theory.
