The prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions postdoctoral fellowship was awarded to Marios Maimaris, who distinguished himself for his excellent research with the project Spectrally Resolved Action Photocurrent Ultrafast Spectroscopy (SPERAPHOUS).
SPERAPHOUS analyses the factors that limit the performance of organic solar cells, with a particular focus on their ultrafast time scales.
Starting from the combination of photocurrent spectroscopy and ultrafast multidimensional spectroscopy, the aim is to develop a new ultrafast spectroscopic technique for organic solar cells under operating conditions. This makes it possible to identify the bound states that limit their performance.
This approach will help establish new design rules for highly efficient organic solar cells and advance the fundamental understanding of organic optoelectronic systems.
