Giuseppe Maria Paternò has been named among the 32 Ambassadors for the ERC network by the European Research Council (ERC) and the Association of ERC Grantees (AERG)

The new initiative aims to promote frontier research in Europe: the ambassadors will be committed to engaging policymakers, media and local research communities, highlighting the importance of research by explaining how it benefits the economy and society.
Prof. Paternò is responsible for the EOS project, which proposes a new strategy to make bacteria capable of perceiving light stimuli, for which he received an ERC Starting Grant.
