OCT-ITA

The main activities carried out in the Optical Coherence Tomography and Interferometric Techniques Alike (OCT-ITA) laboratory are:

  1. Design and development of interferometric instrumentation for imaging techniques such as optical coherence tomography (OCT) in its multiple variants, Doppler holography, and interferometric near-infrared spectroscopy, with assembly and characterization of prototypes;
  2. Acquisition of images and data with the aforementioned instrumentation on samples of various kinds, including inorganic samples, phantoms and biological tissues, both ex vivo and in vivo.

These activities are aimed at improving diagnostic and surgical accuracy in medical applications, with the goal of translating the innovation from bench to bedside.
