Gatti Davide

Associate Professor

Davide Gatti received his M.Sc. degree in Electronic Engineering from Politecnico di Milano in 2004 and his Ph.D. in Physics from the same institution in 2008. After a postdoctoral research period at the Department of Physics, he was appointed as a Researcher in 2010 and, since 2019, has been an Associate Professor at the Department of Physics of Politecnico di Milano.

His research focuses on high-resolution molecular spectroscopy using optical frequency combs, encompassing both dual-comb spectroscopy and other advanced configurations. These techniques enable rapid, broadband and high-sensitivity measurements for the identification and quantification of gas-phase molecular species, with applications in combustion, environmental monitoring and chemical kinetics in astrophysical contexts.

He is also involved in the European ERC project TROPHY (ulTRafast hOlograPHic FT-IR microscopY), dedicated to the development of innovative photothermal and label-free vibrational microscopy techniques for diagnostic and materials analysis applications.

He teaches General Physics and Experimental Physics courses for the Bachelor’s Degrees in Building Engineering-Architecture and Industrial Production Engineering at Politecnico di Milano.
