Di Sieno Laura

Associate Professor

She was born in Varese in 1987. She joined Politecnico di Milano in 2006, where she received the B.Sc. degree in Biomedical Engineering in 2009 and M.Sc. degree in Electronics Engineering in 2011. Her master thesis was focused on the development of a system for diffuse optical spectroscopy using SPAD (Single Photon Avalanche Diode) enabled in time-gated mode.

In 2015, she obtained the Ph.D. degree in Physics from Dipartimento di Fisica of Politecnico di Milano, with thesis title: “Time domain diffuse optical imaging at short source-detector distance” (supervisor: Prof. A. Pifferi).

Her activity is mainly focused on the study and application of instrumentation for time-resolved optical spectroscopy of highly scattering media using new technologie (such as SPAD enabled in fast-gated mode and SiPMs).
