HIMALAYA aims to develop an innovative device for the automatic and non-invasive identification of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in blood, which are essential for monitoring tumor progression and treatment efficacy through liquid biopsy. The project integrates high-throughput imaging techniques within an optofluidic chip fabricated by femtosecond laser micromachining, resulting in a compact, stable, and user-friendly system. HIMALAYA seeks to make cancer diagnosis more accessible, cost-effective, and reliable.
